Synopsis

Set in the early 1950s and adapted from James Ellroy's book, L.A. CONFIDENTIAL is a story of police intrigue and departmental rivalry. Mickey Cohen is in prison and his Mafia territory is up for grabs. In LA, the police run each new hopeful out of town but, nevertheless, someone in Los Angeles is taking over as the massacre at the Night Owl Cafe makes clear. Ed Exley, an ambitious young cop is determined to find out who and make a name for himself in the process. Bud White is equally determined to find out who killed his buddy and other ex-cops even as he confronts his own demons of violence. Rivals, the two men fail for the same blonde beauty but finally understand they must work together to identify and unmask the murderous rackets boss ominously establishing his presence which leads them to an unexpected and chilling conclusion
